Internships

Information on student internships

The Federal Patent Court offers internships (only compulsory internships). Upon proof of interest in industrial property law (seminars, courses, etc.), students can complete an internship at the Federal Patent Court, providing the number of patent attorney candidates assigned to the court allows for this.

Interested students should first submit the following application documents to divison 3 (Judge Monika Hartlieb):

  • Covering letter with exact information on the desired internship period
  • CV in table form with photograph
  • Copy of Abitur school leaving certificate
  • Copies of examinations/tests or intermediate examinations
  • Description of interest in industrial property law (please enclose documentation)

Orientation during school days – for your future goals

In the scope of career orientation, we offer pupils of secondary schools the opportunity to complete an internship on our premises.

During the internship, the young people are offered insights into vocation-specific activities as well as the daily court routine.

The application should contain the following documents and to division 3 (Judge Monika Hartlieb) be directed to:

  • Covering letter with exact information on the desired internship period and the desired field
  • CV in table form with photograph
  • Copy of the most recent school report
  • Confirmation from the school on the dates of career orientation

By the way, a successfully completed pupil internship not only allows you to take an exciting look at professional life, but also provides good opportunities for a later training position at the Federal Patent Court.
